Lesson 9. Comparatives, superlatives, too and enough

В этом уроке ты научишься сравнивать людей, места, товары и решения: cheaper than, the best, as comfortable as, too expensive, clear enough.
Comparative сравнивает два варианта, superlative выбирает один лучший/самый в группе.Comparatives: сравниваем два варианта| Adjective | Comparative | Example |

Используй the перед superlative: the cheapest, the most comfortable, the best.
- This is the cheapest hotel in the area.
- She is the most experienced person in the team.
- That was the best lesson this week.
Конструкция as + adjective + as означает «такой же ... как».
- This task is as difficult as the previous one.
- The second café isn’t as expensive as the first one.
Too показывает проблему. Enough показывает достаточный уровень.Too and enough| Structure | Meaning | Example |

- Назови варианты: Option A and option B.

Как выбрать структуру сравнения
- Сравниваешь 2 объекта — используй comparative: cheaper than, more useful than.
- Выбираешь 1 лучший/худший из группы — используй superlative: the best, the most comfortable.
- Говоришь, что они одинаковые — используй as ... as.
- Говоришь, что чего-то слишком много/достаточно — используй too или enough.

Example 1. Comparing two hotels
Hotel A is cheaper than Hotel B, but Hotel B is more comfortable. I would choose Hotel B because comfort is important for me.
Example 2. Superlative
This is the most useful app on my phone.
Мы выбираем один объект из группы всех приложений.
Example 3. Too
The course is too difficult for beginners.
Meaning: сложность выше нужного уровня, это проблема.
Example 4. Enough
The explanation is clear enough.
Meaning: объяснение достаточно понятное.
Example 5. Mini-dialogue
A: Which phone should I buy?
B: The first one is cheaper, but the second one has a better camera.
A: Is it light enough?
B: Yes, it is. I think it is the best option.
Decision example: choosing a hotel
Hotel A is cheaper than Hotel B, but Hotel B is closer to the city centre. Hotel C is the most comfortable, but it is too expensive for this trip. Hotel B is good enough, so I would choose it.
This is a strong B1 answer because it compares options, explains the problem and gives a decision.
